Cant stop thinking about crystal meth? how do i forget?

Question: Cant stop thinking about crystal meth? how do i forget?

(Posted by: THE POPE on 2006-07-11 13:21:35)

I stopped using crystal meth just before Christmas last year. I haven't slipped since & am very proud of myself.... BUT I just cant stop thinking about it. I crave it all the time & was wondering if anybody out there has gone through this before . . what helped you? Seems like I think about it 4 or 5 times a week and want to drive down to go get some . . . but luckily I haven't. I am in San Diego & it is all over the town so it is hard to forget about it... anyways. . .thanks for any help you can offer me.

Try some heroin. You will soon forget all about meth.

Sorry to hear of your stuggle. You should get someone to be accountable to (someone you are a little scared of). Also, you should check and see if there are any support groups in your area. This can be a huge help and offer lots of ideas to get through this tough time.

I've never been in your shoes but I have heard that it takes months for the effects of meth to get out of your body, unlike coke which just takes a few days. Are you part of a support group, someone who's been through this that you can call on when you start thinking about it. Congrats on taking your life back.

Hey I know how you feel. Do you go to NA well that is alot of help. You can only take one day at a time. And when you think about it the thought goes away in 10 seconds and you are thinking about something else. Just don't give up the fight. It will be alife long one

Wow! That's so awesome! Good for you. Maybe you could see if there are any local support group to help you out ever farther.

I know quitting any addiction is hard, I quit smoking cigs 4 months ago cold turkey and havent slipped..YOU SHOULD BE VERY PROUD OF YOURSELF..Keep your mind busy..and remember how it doesnt solve anything or make your life any better.Take the money you would have spent and treat yourself, go out with friends, reach out and help someone.GOOD LUCK!! And keep up the QUIT!!

I can't say that I can relate to an addiction of that extent, but I feel you. Have you tried to puffin on some sense? I know it's not the best answer, but it's better than meth you know? I have a family member that lives in Downey that also has had this problem, it hasn't been easy but he got over it but he struggles everyday, he's doesn't even smoke sense anymore either so it was bad. I hope you can find some sort of motivation in the fact that someone out there can relate and it rooting for you to stay clean and good. Good luck homey!

FIRST: CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE SO FAR. Anyone who can come off that stuff is a fine person indeed. Second; I want you to spend the next 15 seconds NOT thinking of a white rabbit. That was just 15 seconds, how do you expect to do the same thing with a narcotic for 24 hours per day. You're doing fine. Hang in there and we are proud of you. Contact me @ internaionalhealers.org

Please leave the shit alone it will ruin your life and everyone around you..my husband is addicted right now to the new form called ice..it is a living nightmare he does weird shit that he never would have done before and he is not the same person he used to be..to make matters worse we have a 4 year old and i am 4 months pregnant and the stress and money loss is killing me...i have looked up a lot of info on this drug and they say zoloft will work if you have stopped doing it but still crave it because the drug depleates the chemical called saratonin in your brain and zoloft is an ssri (selective seratonin inhibitor) so it puts the chemical back in your brain ..it is a feel good chemical part of your brain so you will be happier and think less about the drug and be more happy about life??? i am helping my hubby through the same thing but i have to get him off of the shit first.....good luck and stay strong you dont want to die a horrible brain annurism from high blood pressure so look up methamphetamine deaths that may help a little....

You should be very proud of yourself! I know I am! I faced the same thing when I quit smoking. The mental part of an addiction can be stronger than the physical part. You think about it constantly. And then not so constantly. And then sometimes. And then once in a while. If you aren't in NA or any other support group, keep yourself BUSY with positive things. Doing volunteer work, work more hours, join a community sports team. Go to church. They will bleed your time dry if you let them. Keep up the good work.

That is exactly how it is. I snorted crystal for six months. I craved it for 3 years after I stopped, and i thought about it all the time. Thats just an effect it has on the brain. Give it sometime it'll go away eventually.

Having kids made me think twice.if you have no kids, think about the loved ones in your life.i moved south to get away from my problems. someplace where i don't know any body.i love it here and will never move back where i came from.remember, you have to change your playmates and playground.worked for me.leave the bad stuff alone and smoke ya some hippie hay.i'll never give that up.it's natural.GOD made it.good luck
